This will probably seem like an other hike... and to be honest it was. It didn't have any spectacular waterfall at the end, or sheer mountain cliff. But it was perfect for Andrew and it was his first real hike. There will be more to come for him. To be fair, the trees were gorgeous!
It was only like a 1.5 mile hike. We carried Andrew a little but really tried to encourage him to walk. We made it sound cool, "Your HIKING, Andrew!"
I didn't alter this picture at all, the trees really turned us all lime green at one point.
We had to cross a few creaks (do they call them that here?). We saw a frog at this one.
So tall!
Somehow I captured the moment when Briant saw the tick crawling in Andrew's hair. EEEK! He then flicked it and it landed on me.
I'm not sure what these are... they look like tree stumps worn down.
We saw a ton of flowers.
<3
I guess my camera didn't know that I wanted the flowers in focus, not the leaf.
All in all it was a fun trip. Being in the wilderness always makes me grateful for a house, clean water, sheets, showers, and cupboards full of clean dishes, and clean clothes, etc. I feel so blessed to have the kind of life I do. Since having a kid I've kinda turned into a germ-a-phob. I do love nature though. I love the wildlife, the sound of the birds singing, and the brooks babbling. It was good to soak it in for a few hours.
