One Knee After the Other

The day has come!!  Andy learned how to crawl!  I'm sure he could do it sooner, but he waited until he wanted something really bad first.  What did that happen to be?  The Wii Controller.  Watch out world.

January Mobile Photos

My sister in law gave me a great idea last year.  At months end she uploads the pictures from her phone and puts them on her blog.  I really like this idea because I take plenty of pictures with my phone these days.  In fact most of Andrew's "first pictures" are on my phone because I could take them with one hand... and now it's usually the closest camera.  So, here goes!

Flirting with Emme at church.  She kept taking all of his toys
and crawling away with them... and he let her.  Such a gentlemen.

The hat given to him at the hospital when he was born.

Love watching him sleep.

"Hi, I'm Joseph."

Warm days in January = A much needed walk outside.
The coat is too big, but he stayed warm
and didn't have to wear gloves.

Paper Whites from Aunt Pam.
They looked perfect here.

New season... new boards at GH.

Andrew helping with the boards at 17th

I learned how to do a waterfall braid on Pinterest
& I love all the new ideas I get.

He finally fits in this cute onsie a friend made us!

Look at those slumbering lips!

He's picking it up quickly!

Silly boy...

Playing with mom's stuff is better...

Happy boy!

Loves this!

C&C&C gave us Appleletters for Christmas.
This particular game lasted a long time.
Lesson learned:  You can't make words with out vowels!

Camo!

 Thanks for the idea Julie.

When did you get so big?

We just love this little boy.  We can't believe how fast he is growing!
He wears 12 months clothes, is fast approaching being able to full on crawl, climbs all over us and everything else, he LOVES to wrestle, he will probably outgrow his car seat this month... height wise, and has a smile and giggle that will melt your heart!  He has already made it known that he hates peas and won't eat them unless he is tricked into it.  But he is loving fruit, and getting a real hang of rice surf boards (Baby Mum Mums) and his sippy cup!  .

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

Funny boy...

He'll be walking before we know it!

Loves to bounce!

WOAH!!!  When did you learn how to do that!
Baby proofing is becoming a reality that needs to happen
...and soon!

Here is a compilation of recent videos... ENJOY!!

About Time

It's probably about time to mention that Briant had a birthday earlier this month.  He is now 29.  It was on a Sunday, so we didn't really do much.  He usually just wants to eat pizza (his favorite food) and watch football. But this year, he ordered Enchiladas (the same kind is Mom makes) and watched no football.
I've been really interested in trying my hand at cake decorating lately so I made his Chocolate Cake from scratch, frosting and all.  I plan to keep at it and make "homemade" cakes for all our birthdays... except maybe mine :)

If anybody knows anything about Briant... one of his cakes is not complete with out SPRINKLES!  And he had to have these candy letters... ha funny Briant.  What a wonderful guy you are.  You make us laugh, you work hard, you don't sit down for very long, Andy loves you, Mel goes nuts without you, and you only have one more year until you are 30!  We love you!

6 Months

My Aunt chose Andy to be the subject of her "Picture of the Day" last week.
Here are the results.... how could I not post them?

Yep he can hold his own by the couch.... amazing!

He is getting it more figured out every day.
He may use his feet instead of his knees...

Funny boy, it's not time to play... go to sleep!

Similarities

We saw this picture...
(Briant)

...and thought we'd try to duplicate it.
(Andrew)

Briant said it was like looking into a mirror.  What do you think?

Baby Wearing

I've always liked the idea of "wearing" babies.  It's a great way for me to be hands free, but still close enough to kiss my baby at the same time (and I kiss him ALOT).  It is also very good for baby.
I used a Moby Wrap a few times these past 6 months but I want to show you my new discovery.  Mei Tai Wraps!  My cousin Kayla showed me these wraps and she also introduced me to the Baby Wearers Group in Idaho Falls.
I am so excited to share because I love these things!!  I stared using my first one about a month ago.  I borrowed it from the BWI of S. Idaho's library.  Seriously like every time I put A Man in it he fell asleep (being of course around nap time anyway).  One Sunday my husband and I both had to teach at church so I stuck my little guy in it and he slept the whole time I was teaching!
I still go and do the boards at GH when needed, and this week I had to go do the ones at 17th GH while Briant was working.  So I took the Mei Tai and...
A Man was a gem.  He seemed to really be interested in what I was doing.

He didn't last the whole time (I ended up putting him in a high chair which he also loved) I think he got bored but it just goes to show... YOU CAN DO ANYTHING AND GO ANYWHERE WITH YOUR BABY.
So I just wanted to get the word out and share my experience.  Not only is it awesome, but very practical to join BWI of S. Idaho.  You only pay an annual fee (which is used for washing etc.), and you can try out many different kinds of wraps.  If you are looking to buy your own than this is a great way to find the right kind for you, but I liked joining just because it's much cheaper in the long run. You get to use a bunch of different kinds as your baby grows rather than just buying one that you probably wouldn't get to try out first from the store.  And the annual fee is less than the cost of one that you would buy in most cases.
They also show you lots of different tips for wearing at the frequent meetings they have.
Anyway, it's awesome!!

Sweet Dreams

I love it when my little man sleeps.  It makes me feel like I'm doing something right.  Especially when his naps last longer than 45 minutes and he sleeps for 11 hours at night with out waking up too much.

I started to take pictures of him when he sleeps because my MIL loves seeing babies sleeping peacefully with their arms above their heads.  So this post is for her.

Just recently he's started sleeping in funny positions.
Sometimes I catch him with his hands under his head:

Which leaves a funny hand print when he wakes up:

Then he started rolling to his side to play with the crib rails &
try to catch us when we would
peek in to check on him....
and he would fall asleep that way.

Next, he started to migrate.  We knew it was time to get a sleep sack.

Now, he has started rolling over to his tummy and falling asleep that way.
This really freaked me out at first because a) In my opinion it really isn't comfortable to sleep on my stomach, I would probably get a kink & b) because it increases the risk of SIDS.

I know I shouldn't worry because I can't do anything about it, but just to be safe I flip him back over when he is out.  I probably wouldn't worry so much if I knew he was really good at rolling over tummy to back, but he isn't yet.  He's done it a few times on accident,
 but hasn't mastered it.
Plus, side... he seems to really like it and he falls asleep faster.
