First Haircut

For some time I've been thinking that I need to cut the little boys hair.  It was getting so long.
Do you remember this picture from last month?

This was on Sunday

I really didn't want my little boy to look like a little girl.

Last night.

Briant said it looked like he had a baby mullet.
Business on top, party in the back.

In the tub last night...

Along with always putting his dirty hands
in his hair after he eats (a sign that he is done).
We sweat alot here.

So, his hair has looked messy alot lately.

I was a little scared to cut it.  What if I didn't like it?  There would be no going back.  I was also scared that if I cut his hair he would look funny... that it wouldn't look even.  He has alot more hair in the back than on top, and the long part on top covers the parts on the sides that don't have much.

But I decided it would eventually have to be done.

He doesn't have that much hair & it is very fine.  I didn't think it was necessary to go to a professional.  Besides, I wanted to give him his first cut.  The clippers we have would make it easy with a wiggler.  No mistakes & all one length.

So, this morning we cut it.  We stripped him, & buckled him into his high chair.  I put the longest attachment for the clippers on (1 inch) and started to buzz.  Briant read him stories & gave him puffs to keep him occupied.  He did VERY well.  He was interested in the clippers but wasn't scared (they aren't very loud at all).  I did end up doing a little tapering on the bottom and sides too.

I am very pleased with how it turned out!
And he looks very cute with some spikes!

And, I didn't cry once!

Congrats mamma! I was there for my nephew's first haircut almost 10 years ago and he screamed and was traumatized the whole time because of the clippers. It turned out wonderfully! Good job!
