Callie turned 4 months last week. They grow up so much in 4 months. I saw a newborn at the doctor's office yesterday and was like, "Wow! She is so different from that now!"
I took some pictures of this little lady this past weekend. It is hard to be the photographer and smile getter. Daddy's patience with getting the perfect picture wears thin fast so I'm left trying to get what I want and Callie's like "Mom, what is that THING in front of your face?"
This is the face she had during most of the shoot.
| Still a very cute face, even with no smile. |
Anyway, she still gave me some keepers.
I love this one. She just has a sweet little face.
Like I said, I took Callie in for her 4 month check up yesterday. She is doing very well. She is 25 inches tall (67%ile), 15.1 LBS (63%ile), and her head is in the 90%ile. She has great head control, and she is doing very well standing on her legs already.
She does have what the doctor called Asymmetrical Thigh Creases. Yeah, I'd never heard of it before. I know it may sound made up, but Google it, it's real. I guess it shows the potential for her thigh bone to not be all the way in the hip socket. They will do an ultrasound to see for sure. It's something to look at now, because if they wait till 6 months then they would have to X-ray.
Anyway, other than that she's great! She did great with shots-- I'm mean, she hated them but she recovered well. Just a little fussier yesterday afternoon, but is back to her normal self today.
This little girl sleeps around 10 hours all in one stretch at night. But during the day she won't sleep longer than 45 minutes by herself unless I hold her (or she's in the stroller while I'm walking). She can't seem to figure out how to get herself back to sleep by herself with out the extra comfort and/or movement (but I now she can do it -- she sleeps great at night!) I think she is transitioning to 3 naps a day, but can still do up to 4 at times. Like I said if I hold her she'll do 3 longer ones-- if I don't 4- 45 minute snoozers. SIGH! I'm really hoping she gets it soon.
This beautiful dress she is wearing was given to her by her Grandma Baldwin. I think she looks so gorgeous in it. She is wearing size 6 month clothes now.
She is still exclusively nursing and it's going great. She is more alert now so we have to go somewhere quiet. She also has started pulling, which I hate! I hope she teeths late. Don't worry I'm trying to teach her that that is not okay.
She also has on occasion taken a bottle just fine too.
She is definitely a Mama's girl. She's usually very happy and she loves to kick her feet. She has discovered her feet with a little help (whenever I change her) and will hold on for a few seconds. I think she is close to rolling over. She was working on it and has decided to take a break i guess because she hasn't been practicing much lately. She loves getting her pants changed but especially loves bath time and doesn't scream at all when we take her out (Andrew hated that part). She is started to get good at grabbing things. She loves to sit with us at the table while we have meals and tries to get our plates! She is starting to giggle a lot and is really ticklish.
I just love this little girl SO much. She brings us so much joy. We all love having her in our family.

You know that 4 months is a HUGE age for sleep regression and those 45 minute naps, right? At least her nights are good. At that age Kate would only sleep 45 minutes at night too! Hoping naps even out for you soon though. Kate honestly did not start napping longer than 45 minutes by herself until she was well over ayear old.
