Briant just finished up with Spring Break. Sad. He was off for two weeks so we crammed in lots of fun.... but still had time to relax too. Here is some of the fun we had.
| We visited Columbus, IN. They have this awesome indoor playground we love! |
We got new phones, and switched companies. It is always so much getting new phones with fun features (says Melissa - Briant's not much of a fan), but not fun waiting for your phone number to port.
Anyway, since we wouldn't be using our old phones anymore (obviously), I helped Briant get all the pictures from his old phone. I found some cute ones that I've never seen before...
| I had forgotten, Briant took so many pictures of Andrew when he was born! |
| He still has big feet... |
Okay, back to present time.
We went looking for shoes at Once Upon a Child.
Andrew found a toy he liked,
but we didn't buy it. |
| Playing with features on my phone! I can edit now!! |
THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM - in Indianapolis, IN
This place is super awesome! We went on a free night, but I think we will be going a lot more now that we qualified to get in at a discounted price!
| He loved the Hot Wheels exhibit! |
| Handsome boy. Maybe he is practicing to be the next 007 driving on that side. |
I guess we will have to give him more opportunities to
play in the sand. I had no idea he would take to it like this,
or even know what to do with it. |
| Of course he had to play at the train tables... |
| He is all boy and loves trucks of any kind! |
| ... and cars. |
| In the mirror maze. |
| On a train.... another of his passions! |
He just couldn't get enough of them! We could have stayed
in this exhibit for hours! |
A WALK ON CAMPUS.... it looked almost like a ghost town!
| We could do this all day too! |
Father and son bonding... Spring Break got here just in the nick of time!
These two are forever buddies! |
We only got two really warm days for the whole two weeks. So on those two days we spend our time outside. And the neighbors did too... so naturally we played with their toys!
| Pink? Who cares, it's a car! |
And we went for walks...
| ...and learned sword play, with sticks! |
BOWLING WITH FRIENDS....
| Andrew's first time in the Alley! |
| Focus... |
| Sure I got 3rd place, but I beat Briant!! |
Days full of fun adds up to a pretty tuckered out boy!
Oh and my phone has a flash.... nice! |
One of many drives through all the trees! Love them!
I must have taken a couple dozen pictures of the trees. They are still beautiful, even with
no leaves. It's kinda hard to see, but if you look close you can see these little trees
that still have yellow leaves on them. They really added something to the beauty of the
sleeping trees. Still, we can't wait for a wakeful Spring and all the green that will come! |
INDIANA MOTOR SPEEDWAY... in Indianapolis, IN.
We couldn't live in IN and lot visit this famous place.
There was a lot of history here that was fun to see!
| Of course this is Andrew spent most of his time! |
| Spirit of America |
| Mercedes... |
| THE trophy... |
We took a bus tour around the track...
| 2 1/2 miles around the whole thing! |
| The finish line, made from the original bricks that the whole things used to be made of. |
| What kid wouldn't like a ride outside of their car seat! |
| Blooming Crocuses, pulled at my heart thinking of mine in Idaho! |
Andrew and his friend are good buddies.
It was cute to see them hug! |
My favorite picture of the month! Andrew was loving playing in a little snow storm! And
I loved playing with the editing features on my phone!! |
SHOPPING...
We did some shopping in our full two weeks! We hit the outlets, Kohl's, and of course the mall. We found some great deals too! I found Andrew some shirts for next year, Briant got new mid weight coat, and I found a really cute Easter skirt & top. It took some searching (I'm not really loving the styles these days), but I really love what I found! I'll be sure to take a picture when I wear it on Easter.
Whenever we go to the mall, we stop to see the puppies, bunnies, birds, and spiders (blah)! The store owner asked if we wanted to play with a puppy on this particular slow day. I said, "As long as you know we aren't going to buy her that's fine with us!" He said he didn't mind because it gives the puppies good social skills and exercise. So we picked the cute husky that wanted to lick Andrew's fingers through the glass.
| She was so sweet! |
| And Andrew loved her too. He also really liked playing with the doggy toys. |
WE ATE ICE CREAM....
Cold Stone, A classic
1900 ice cream parlor (which had amazing food too) in Columbus, IN, and of course at home. We ate out a lot more than we normally do too, but hey, it was Spring Break, and we have been doing really well about not eating out much this school year! My favorite places were the Ice Cream parlor in Columbus (I had this amazing Artisan Grilled Cheese and Avocado sandwich), and Cracker Barrel, where I felt right at home!
| Did I mention that Andrew loves ice cream. |
| Skipping rocks! |
I was sad to see Spring Break go. It is always fun to spend more time together and go explore new places. But alas, it does always feel good to get back to a routine and exercise.

That picture of Andrew looking up with all those footprints around him in the snow is so cute I could die!
