She's a little on the small side, but today at well child checkup the doctor said she is still growing and developing perfectly.
Callie is really growing up and expressing herself everyday. She has a really sweet personality, as well as curious and into everything. She has a very strong will, and won't give in easily. She has the most amazing blue eyes that everyone stops to comment on.
Of course, as is typical for her age, she puts everything in her mouth right now:
I love her gorgeous smile and expressive facial expressions.
but this is the face she gives to anybody who isn't close to her.
Likes:
Her mama. getting undressed and bathtime, bouncing, when daddy gets home,
Dislikes:
Putting on her clothes (in particular, her shirts).
Eating: Feel free to skip the first paragraph if you don't want all the details(I know this is a lot of details than I normally don't elaborate on, but I do so for #1 future references, and #2 other people who may be going through the same things)
She is still a great nurser, with no signs of weaning right now. I hope to start weaning around 12 months, but won't cut her off cold turkey-- if she does 1 or 2 times a day nursing until 18 months I'm okay with that. I'm a patient person and a fan of slow transitions. It's definitely not hurting her, and there isn't anything I'm restricted with currently with my diet. I'll introduce her to cows milk and hope she takes it if I can't be there for some reason.
Until now that was her main source. I was a little worried about her solid intake the past couple months. She was trying it but not really consuming a lot. Some days were better than others. I have been doing some reading and thinking though of how I can tweak her eating and sleeping schedule now that she is older. Just in the past couple days that I have implemented the changes, I have seen a small change already. Instead of nursing her right when she wakes up from naps, I give her a small snack of solids. Then, I wait until a big meal and give her an actual meal of solids followed by nursing. I have already seen her eat so much more. I do this all with the exception of breakfast (it's hard to get finished in time for us to make it to school, appointments etc.) which I just nurse her first then give her cheerios.
She is doing great by herself with picking up and eating crackers, pancakes, scrambled eggs, cheerios, & puffs. I still feed her pureed, but I try to mix with mashed food we are already eating like bananas, apples, blueberries, etc. She isn't much a veggie fan so I try to mix those in as well.
Teeth:
None
Sleeping:
She takes 2 naps a day. Morning one is usually short (45 min) and the afternoon is longer (1 1/2 -2 hours). She sleeps great at night waking once around 1-3 o'clock to eat. Hopefully with the above new schedule she can eat better during the day and I can get her to stop waking up at night all together. I'm going to give it a couple weeks on this new schedule before I don't give her anything at night anymore. Also I hope it helps with her naps too.
Clothing Size:
12 Months and 12-18 Months -- BTW, I LOVE shopping for a little girl! So much fun!
Crawling: Yes, and she is getting pretty fast. She crawls faster when I come after her.
Cruising: Yes and climbing stairs too.
Walking: She loves to hold onto our fingers and practice but isn't showing much confidence in standing by herself yet. I anticipate she won't start walking completely on her own until her first birthday or after.
A few days ago I got out my camera to take pictures of Callie with the goal to get a good close up shot of her face. I am so in love with her sweet little features. I get to look at her up close all the time, but I know as time moves on those little features will mature and I will forget them. So I had to try to document some. This is the picture I was hoping for:

I think she is the same size or taller than Kenzey. Kenzey weighs 17.8 lbs and I can't remember how tall she is....another shorty for us!
