May Mobile Moments

Now that June is almost over....
Better late than never.
He loves making little beds for himself.

Sweet glasses babe!

Deciding....

Took a picture of the pigs for Andrew

Time for our concert!!

Yay!  We get to see Garth!
He wasn't the only one with this face! We both love Garth.
This concert so close to us was too good to pass up!
We'll probably never get this chance again!

It was such a great concert!

Calling Baton Rough.

There he is!

Standing outside the fire... one of my personal favs.

She loves those books!

All ready for the day.

I won't tell you what it took to be able to do this.

He found a pretzel that was in the shape of an A

Reading.

Briant took this while I was in the temple.

It was a great day!

11 more years to go till Callie can go to the temple!

Mother's Day was awesome! Love my two kids!

Loved my flowers from B.

Andrew gave me one too.

This was Andrew's class singing the songs they learned that year.
Andrew was not much of a fan singing for everyone. He is not
a performer!

He loves this puzzle ball!

Last day of preschool!

Andrew got a birthday song early since he didn't have school on his birthday.

Father Son Campout.... but really only stayed for
the evening.

Callie's birthday.  Andrew played with all the toys more than the birthday girl.

She still had a good time. Happy birthday little one year old!

FHE Board

She is an advanced reader... more like she won't leave my stuff alone!

Good lookn boy!

Got lots of rain.

First time in the car cart for Callie.

She is so proud of herself whenever she sits in a seat by herself.

Summer school begins.

This was from him on Mother's day... he made it in primary.
Had to take a picture before I threw it away.

Summer goals.

He started writing his name all by himself!

Andrew's best buddy came back from Africa!

Our plants are coming up!  Andrew loves to help water.

Memorial Day parade

and some memorial day fun at the pool too.

Drat... she found my cupboards.

She finally started liking green beans... only after
introducing them like 30 times! For Callie it is
all about cutting them up the right way.  She likes to
bite stuff off instead of me dicing everything up.
So green beans must be eaten like french fries.

Another chair she mastered.

She loves wearing her helmate everywhere.

Andrew felt left out.

MMMM watermelon!

First oreo cookie!

Ahh! We finally found a shaved ice place here!

I know I shouldn't take pictures in Sacrament Meeting,
but she was so tired this day and this is where she
layed down.  Right in the middle of the isle.

She took a late nap that day and then she wouldn't go to bed...

...until 11pm! Oh church with little ones is rough.
Especially 1 o'clock church.

Andrew's 4th Birthday

The day started out with some gifts from family.

Love this excited face!

Hockey Stick!

We had some fun during the day, and went to Chocolate World to get him a cupcake, at his request.  Then we went to Cocoa Castle for some fun with friends... and cake.

The kids ran around playing and having fun and by the time we got around to cake and singing, the kids were hot and sweaty.  Andrew's face was red from running around so much!  Oh to be a kid again.

I just love all his little friends.  He got to invite 4 friends and they made his birthday spectacular!

Happy Birthday, little buddy!  I can't believe you are 4!  You are such a great kid and we love you so much!

Callie's First Birthday

The day started out with a girl all smiles.  We gave her some gifts. A purse and books. Andrew gave her a bunny towel.  Grandma gave her a little peoples Noah's Ark... but Andrew wouldn't hardly let her play with it. She's used to that.  Andrew finds more fascination with her toys than she does.  But she likes what she got and plays with them when Andrew is finally interested in his own toys.

Answering the phone that came with her purse.
Close enough....at least it's by her ear.

Andrew knew exactly what it was and what to do with it.
Now I just need to teach him to try to SHOW her how to use stuff.

Callie's cake.  Chocolate cake, with white chocolate raspberry frosting.  Not my best work, but nobody could tell.
Callie was apprehensive at first about her cake. She touched it but wouldn't taste it (despite me teaching her to lick her fingers this past month).  She didn't start eating it herself until I gave her a taste with the spoon. Then she used that spoon to keep eating it. She has been more interested in eating with utensils since.

Cleaning her up.

GG and Pop pop gave her a baby.
She gives it hugs and  kisses.
She also chucks it across the room.
She really does love it and it's totally the perfect size for her.

She had a great birthday.  It was Sunday so a hard nap day for her.  But considering, she did great.  I'm still hoping to get some pictures in her dress, but who knows when.

CR - 12 Months

I can't believe my Callie is one!  She is such a beautiful little girl and we just love her so much!

Stats:
Height: 29.8 Inches (73%ile)
Weight: 17 lbs 10 oz (17%ile)
Head Circ: 63%ile

Clothing Size:
Mostly 18 months (some still sag on her), she can still fit in 12 months stuff too.
Diaper Size: 4

Teeth: 2 (Bottom Incisors)
Walking?  Yes, EVERYWHERE! She now gets into everything and we are starting to misplace all kinds of things, thanks to her.
She is starting to get good going up hills too. She also loves to dance when the music comes on.  She is really good at climbing up stairs and probably within the last month has started turning around and going downstairs too!

Words: None yet.  She jabbers a lot! I really think she is trying to say stuff sometimes but nothing yet.  She will say Mama when she is desperate for me to hold her or nurse her.  But won't do it all the time.

Eating: Callie has made huge progress with eating in the past 3 months.  She eats most everything we do now at meal times.  She isn't much of a breakfast fan yet though. She loves noodles, casseroles, soups, graham crackers, most meats, eggs, ice cream, corn, bread, muffins... she also does like the fruit veggie pouches once in a while too. She is picky about a few things here and there, like sometimes she doesn't like her food cubed up, she'd rather take a bit off of it (like apples).  She recently started liking green beans this way. It only took 30 attempts before she started eating them like fries and decided they aren't so bad.  She also drinks cows milk fine at meal times and likes juice too along with water.

I am still nursing Callie after meals and at bedtime.  I thought I would be weaning, but I haven't felt strongly that I need to.  It seems to bring her a lot of comfort still.  There are times when it is the only thing that will satisfy her.  I try other things first, water, cows milk from a sippy, but sometimes she just needs some comfort food.  To be honest, I'm surprised with myself that I'm not eager to wean right now.  I'm totally fine to let her wean whenever she is ready. She has days when she doesn't need me as much and then days like today when I think she is teething and it helps to sooth her.  She is not dependant on me to fall asleep, and my diet is not restricted in anyway.  I see no reason why I'm not able to continue, and I'm actually completely fine with it. It is so good for her anyway so.

Sleeping:
She is still taking 2 naps during the day, but she has had a few days recently where she will NOT take a morning nap. So she may be hinting at ridding herself from that morning  nap soon. :-(  She usually goes to bed around 8-8:30pm and wakes around 7ish in the morning.  She still wakes up most nights for an early morning feeding.... she does give me a full night though maybe 1-2 times a week (when she is fully healthy). I feel bad that she gets gypped on her sleep more than Andrew did, just because she is the second baby and we have to go places sometimes. I find many times as parents we have to divide and conquer so we don't have to wake her early or skip those incredible important naps.

Callie and Andrew are starting play more and more together.  Mostly, she is still pretty annoyed with Andrew and his rough affection for her. But, she watches him and is starting to mimic what he does. He likes to make up words right now and I have to remind him to use real words so Callie can learn how to talk.

Walking EVERYWHERE!!
We just love this little lady!  She has a pretty spunky personality.  She is very curious and into everything but is usually pretty happy.  She makes us laugh often and we love having her in our family!

Before You Turn One

The night before Callie turned one, I snuck into her bedroom and took some pictures of her sleeping...

... then I went downstairs and wrote her this poem:

TO MY BABY-- THE NIGHT BEFORE YOU TURN ONE

As this day comes to an end,
Your very first year does too.
So many memories filled with joy,
And others when we hadn't a clue.

We've had some special time you and I,
You rarely let me out of your sight.
I'm glad to give the love you need,
T'was a pleasure to make you feel right.

This year to come, you'll grow even more,
My baby no more will you be.
But I can't forget the bond we've made,
These days when you've relayed on me.
