CR - 12 Months

I can't believe my Callie is one!  She is such a beautiful little girl and we just love her so much!

Stats:
Height: 29.8 Inches (73%ile)
Weight: 17 lbs 10 oz (17%ile)
Head Circ: 63%ile

Clothing Size:
Mostly 18 months (some still sag on her), she can still fit in 12 months stuff too.
Diaper Size: 4

Teeth: 2 (Bottom Incisors)
Walking?  Yes, EVERYWHERE! She now gets into everything and we are starting to misplace all kinds of things, thanks to her.
She is starting to get good going up hills too. She also loves to dance when the music comes on.  She is really good at climbing up stairs and probably within the last month has started turning around and going downstairs too!

Words: None yet.  She jabbers a lot! I really think she is trying to say stuff sometimes but nothing yet.  She will say Mama when she is desperate for me to hold her or nurse her.  But won't do it all the time.

Eating: Callie has made huge progress with eating in the past 3 months.  She eats most everything we do now at meal times.  She isn't much of a breakfast fan yet though. She loves noodles, casseroles, soups, graham crackers, most meats, eggs, ice cream, corn, bread, muffins... she also does like the fruit veggie pouches once in a while too. She is picky about a few things here and there, like sometimes she doesn't like her food cubed up, she'd rather take a bit off of it (like apples).  She recently started liking green beans this way. It only took 30 attempts before she started eating them like fries and decided they aren't so bad.  She also drinks cows milk fine at meal times and likes juice too along with water.

I am still nursing Callie after meals and at bedtime.  I thought I would be weaning, but I haven't felt strongly that I need to.  It seems to bring her a lot of comfort still.  There are times when it is the only thing that will satisfy her.  I try other things first, water, cows milk from a sippy, but sometimes she just needs some comfort food.  To be honest, I'm surprised with myself that I'm not eager to wean right now.  I'm totally fine to let her wean whenever she is ready. She has days when she doesn't need me as much and then days like today when I think she is teething and it helps to sooth her.  She is not dependant on me to fall asleep, and my diet is not restricted in anyway.  I see no reason why I'm not able to continue, and I'm actually completely fine with it. It is so good for her anyway so.

Sleeping:
She is still taking 2 naps during the day, but she has had a few days recently where she will NOT take a morning nap. So she may be hinting at ridding herself from that morning  nap soon. :-(  She usually goes to bed around 8-8:30pm and wakes around 7ish in the morning.  She still wakes up most nights for an early morning feeding.... she does give me a full night though maybe 1-2 times a week (when she is fully healthy). I feel bad that she gets gypped on her sleep more than Andrew did, just because she is the second baby and we have to go places sometimes. I find many times as parents we have to divide and conquer so we don't have to wake her early or skip those incredible important naps.

Callie and Andrew are starting play more and more together.  Mostly, she is still pretty annoyed with Andrew and his rough affection for her. But, she watches him and is starting to mimic what he does. He likes to make up words right now and I have to remind him to use real words so Callie can learn how to talk.

Walking EVERYWHERE!!
We just love this little lady!  She has a pretty spunky personality.  She is very curious and into everything but is usually pretty happy.  She makes us laugh often and we love having her in our family!

Nursing past one is great! Kate only weaned right before her second birthday and it was as much her choice as mine. I do recommend making your nursing times very structured from now on though (but it sounds like you already are), because it makes it easier once she starts to get really demanding and assertive. (Though Kate still asked all day, every day, to nurse basically until right up before she weaned.) Good for you!
